1.    A Not Guilty plea is made by signing and dating Part B of the issued ticket and mailing it to Court before the date listed on your summons. Upon receipt of your Not Guilty plea, the Court will notify you in writing of your court date for a meeting with the Town Prosecutor.

2.    A Guilty plea is made by signing and dating Part A and mailing to Court before the date listed on your summons. Upon receipt of your Guilty plea, the Court will notify you in writing of the fine due that must be promptly paid. No partial payments are accepted. No extensions are granted.

B.    In Person

1.    If you do not want to enter a plea by mail, you may appear at the Court office before the date listed on your summons. Hours are listed above.

*Please note: The date on your ticket is NOT a Court Date. It is the date for which your plea of Guilty or Not Guilty needs to be received by the Court. Please refer to the instructions found on the front of your ticket.  BE SURE to update your ADDRESS on the summons.

**PLEASE BE ADVISED THE COURT CANNOT ACCEPT FINE PAYMENTS OVER THE PHONE OR VIA E-MAIL.

**Acceptable methods of payment when paying in person: Cash, VISA, MasterCard, money order or certified check made payable to Town of Cheektowaga Court.  NO Personal Checks. Card holder must be present.

***NO FOREIGN CURRENCY or amounts of $5.00 or greater in coins.

Failure to Answer a Ticket in the Town of Cheektowaga
Failure to answer a ticket in the Town of Cheektowaga can and will result in the suspension of one’s license/driving privileges. Penalties for suspension for failure to pay a fine OR appear in court are substantial. To lift a suspension once it occurs is an extra $70.00 per EACH ticket you received, plus the fines that were originally imposed.

*If you have received notice from the NYS DMV, mail or bring in all associated paperwork.

**Until paid in full, your license will remain suspended.
